Wireless Power and Data Transfer for Neuroscientific Applications. Neuroscience needs a neural recording IC to monitor the subject’s behavior. These neural interfaces have to be light, have a long lifetime, and support wireless transmission modules to avoid the signal wire tethering subject’s movement. Thus, the wireless power and data transfer (WPDT) scheme show good potentials to meet these requirements. This talk mainly includes two parts. First, we introduce a WPDT receiver to demodulate the data and rectify the wireless energy simultaneously. It exploits a novel technique called shifted-limiter to demodulate the ASK data with 0.1% modulation depth while the power conversion efficiency (PCE) is up to 75.4%. Second, the proposed WPDT receiver is successfully applied in a wireless 64-channel neural interfacing SoC with 54Mbps wireless transmission rate and >100dB PSRR. At the same time, the weight and lifetime of the corresponding module is just <3g and >24h, respectively.
Mr. Ye received the B.Sc. degree in optoelectronics from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2008, and the M.Sc degree in electrical engineering from Lund University, Sweden, in 2012. Since 2016 he has been a research associate in the Institution of Brain-inspired Circuits and Systems (iBiCAS) at Fudan University. During 2012-2016, he has been a research assistant in the IC Design Group, University of Twente, The Netherlands. His current research interests include the energy-efficient interferer-robust wireless receiver, wake-up receiver, wireless power and data transfer receiver, time-domain signal-processing circuit, and neural interfacing SoC. In the past five years, he had published 12 papers in ISSCC/JSSC/RFIC/TCS-II/TBCAS/ISCAS in total. He was a co-recipient of the Best Paper Award of the BioCAS Track from the 2019 International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS).
叶大蔚博士2008年毕业于华中科技大学并获得学士学位，2012年硕士毕业于瑞典隆德大学，2012年至2016年作为科研助理就职于荷兰屯特大学IC Design Group。2016年底至今在复旦大学类脑芯片与片上智能系统研究院从事助理研究员的工作。他的研究方向为射频和模拟集成电路设计， 其中主要包括高能效抗干扰无线接收机， 唤醒接收机， 无线能量与数据传输接收机， 时域信号处理电路和神经接口SoC。近五年来， 他在ISSCC, JSSC, RFIC, TCS-II, TBCAS, ISCAS等国际期刊和会议上发表论文12篇， 其中以第一作者或通讯作者身份在ISSCC和JSSC上共发表论文5篇。他作为co-author在2019年的“国际电路与系统年会”（ISCAS）上发表的论文被评为“生物医疗方向最佳论文”。
