Dr. Guoxing Wang received his PhD degree in January 2006 from University of California, Santa Cruz. He has been doing research in the areas of integrated circuits and bioelectronics. He has led efforts in designing an artificial retina chip that is currently being used in chronic clinical trial by Second Sight Medical Products for restoring eyesight for the blinds. He has authored/coauthored about 30 peer reviewed journal and conference papers, including 17 indexed by EI and 6 indexed with SCI. Dr. Wang coauthored four book chapters and has1 US patent pending.

 

Dr. Wang has worked for Huawei, Agere (formerly Lucent), LSI and Second Sight, sucessfully designed chips with processes from Toshiba, National Semiconductor, TSMC, AMI and XFAB, including industry level chips used for Voice Switch, GEPhy, and Artificial Retina.

 

Dr. Wang has served US National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research Review Panel, IEEE Biomedical Circuits and System Society Technical Committee, IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and System Session Chair and has reviewed many papers for international journals and conferences.
